# Exact Online

<Note>
  You cannot sign in to Exact Online with embedded credentials. Please create a custom OAuth application to sign in instead. See below.

## Prerequisites

Before connecting Exact Online to Connect AI, you must create a custom OAuth application in the Exact Online App Center:

    If you have not already done so, create an Exact Online developer account.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Log in to the App Center.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Navigate to **Manage Apps** > **Add a New Application**.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Enter a name for the application.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Set the **Redirect URI** to *[https://oauth.cdata.com/oauth/](https://oauth.cdata.com/oauth/)*.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Click **Edit**. The App Center displays your new application's client ID and client secret. Save this information.
  </Step>

## Setup Guide

Follow these steps to connect Exact Online to your Connect AI account:

    Open the **Sources** page of the Connect AI navigation menu.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Click **+ Add Connection** in the upper-right corner.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Type *Exact Online* into the search field, then click the data source name.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    On the **Basic Settings** tab of the new connection, enter a connection name or keep the default name.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Select a region in the **Region** drop-down list that is associated with your Exact Online administration.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    On the **Advanced Settings** tab, enter the **OAuthClientId** and **OAuthClientSecret** values from the custom OAuth application you created in the Prerequisites section.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Click **Sign in** to connect securely through OAuth. This action opens the Exact Online sign-in page in a new tab.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Log in to your Exact Online account and provide the requested permissions (if applicable).
  </Step>

  <Step>
    The **Division** field populates with the divisions associated with your Exact Online administration. Select a division from the drop-down list. The default value is the first division in the list.
